Affinity EDM (Employment and Disability Management) provides an independent and personalised vocational support service.

Founded by Fiona Rumney, Affinity EDM provides work-focused support to clients disadvantaged due to the effects of mental health, learning difference, injury, disability or a long-term health condition.

Fiona offers a range of specialised vocational assessment and case management, training, screening, and individual employment support services across a wide range of health difficulties and disabilities tailored to individual need.

About Fiona Rumney

Fiona is passionate about vocational rehabilitation and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives. She has over 30 years’ experience working within the Welfare to Work, Occupational Case Management and Vocational Rehabilitation sectors.

Fiona is a Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP). She is certified in Adult Dyslexia Vocational Evaluation (Dyslexia Screening) and is a trained Systematic Instruction (job coach) practitioner.  Fiona  is qualified and registered with the British Psychological Society as a Test User in Occupational Ability to deliver psychometric assessments. She holds qualifications and certifications in Equality and Diversity and in Safeguarding Adults and Young People. In addition, Fiona holds an NVQ3 in Information, Advice and Guidance.

Fiona holds professional membership with the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA) UK, the Case Management Society UK (CMSUK) and she is a Registered Case Manager with the Institute of Registered Case Managers (IRCM).  Fiona also holds Practitioner Membership with the British Association of Brain Injury and Complex Case Management (BABICM).

Experience

Fiona started her career working with the Department for Employment in 1984. Since then, she’s been a Disability Employment Adviser for Jobcentre Plus and worked for a major welfare-to-work provider in Occupational Case Management (OCM), including training staff moving into OCM roles.

Fiona was a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant for Remploy’s Vocational Rehabilitation Service team for 20 years, and a Consultant for the Access to Work Mental Health Programme. She has delivered vocational assessment and case management services for medico-legal clients and the Ministry of Defence, supporting armed forces personnel and veterans with the transition into civilian life and employment. More recently, her work in that role has been with clients in a variety of commercial, educational and third sector organisations.

Fiona currently works delivering vocational assessment and case management, information, advice, and guidance services through Affinity EDM. She also works as an Associate Vocational Case Manager for specialist organisations, delivering vocational assessment and case management services, specialising in catastrophic injury and brain injury.

Voluntary Roles

For several years now, Fiona has served as a committee member and a Specialist Literacy Expert and Co-ordinator Support for Read Easy (Torbay and South Devon), a part of the adult literacy charity Read Easy UK.  Fiona has also worked as a Volunteer Befriender for Torbay Community Development Trust.

Professional Standards

Affinity EDM is committed to the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA) UK’s Standards of Practice and Code of Conduct for Vocational Rehabilitation Practitioners; the Case Management Society UK (CMSUK) Standards of Practice and Best Practice Guidelines; and the Institute of Registered Case Managers (IRCM) standards of practice.  Fiona holds professional membership of the VRA UK and CMS UK and she is a Registered Case Manager with the IRCM. Fiona also holds Practitioner Membership with the British Association of Brain Injury and Complex Case Management (BABICM).
